
Nick Almeida, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Liberal Arts
Nick Almeida is the author of Masterplans (The Master’s Review, 2020). His fiction has appeared in the Kenyon Review, Waxwing, American Literary Review, The Southeast Review, and elsewhere. Recent nonfiction has appeared in Academic Medicine, CRAFT, and Pleiades. He is a graduate of the University of Houston’s Ph.D. program in Literature and Creative Writing, where he edited Scripts: Selections of Narrative and Lyric Health, as well as a graduate of the Michener Center for Writers in Austin, Texas, where he edited Bat City Review. Nick’s work has been recognized by the Everett Southwest Literary Award, the Inprint Joan and Stanford Alexander Prize in Fiction, and the Inprint Donald Barthelme Prize in Nonfiction. He has presented at the San Angelo Writers Conference (2024, 2025), the Innovations in Healthcare Conference (2021), and the Boldface Conference (2021, 2023, 2025).
